In response to evolving regulatory standards, AGC remains fully operational and compliant in PTFE production. In 2021, the company implemented the REACH regulations under the European Union, imposing a 25 ppb limitation for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) in all PTFE products.

PFAS Regulation Proposals: Updates from ECHA

In 2022/2023, a proposal for the restriction of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) has been submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) regulations. Under REACH, ECHA has been evaluating PFAS compounds to assess their risks to human health and the environment. Based on these evaluations, proposals for restrictions on certain PFAS substances have been made to mitigate their impact. The expectation is that ECHA will evaluate over 5000 dossiers in the coming months and will propose a course of action. If desired, we would be happy to keep you updated on this matter.
