Our Story
Founded in 1851 in Rotterdam, De Monchy began as a trading company rooted in Dutch international trade, initially supplying spices from Indonesia. Over the decades, the company expanded into new product areas and markets, building a strong foundation in trade, sourcing, and long-term partnerships.
Throughout the 20th century and beyond, De Monchy evolved in step with changing industries, growing into nuts and seeds, and diversifying into chemical raw materials, flavors, fragrances, and personal care ingredients for customers worldwide. Strategic acquisitions and new ventures in the 2000s further strengthened the group, while sustainability and responsible sourcing became an increasingly important focus.
